Application

Always perform a patch test prior to first use.

This toner may be used once daily or every other day based on tolerability. After cleansing in the evening, apply to face, neck and decollete with a dry or damp cotton pad. Some mild redness and tingling may occur. Follow with our Prickly Pear Seed Oil for best results. We recommend forgoing use if you are planning to use our Exfoliating Mask on the same day.

Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use on burned, irritated or broken skin. Test this product on a small patch of skin prior to use. If irritation persists or allergic reaction occurs, rinse off immediately, discontinue use, and consult a physician. Keep out of reach of children.

How often should I use the Exfoliating Toner?

The Exfoliating Toner can be used daily or every other day based on tolerability.

When should I apply the Exfoliating Toner?

We suggest applying the Exfoliating Toner in the evening following your double cleanse and prior to applying the Prickly Pear Seed Oil.

How should I apply the Exfoliating Toner?

We suggest applying the toner with either a dry or damp cotton pad. A damp cotton pad is suggested for more sensitive skin or anyone building up their tolerability to the Exfoliating Toner. You may also rinse the Exfoliating Toner off after 2-3 minutes every other night to begin building tolerability. Please see "How should I start using the Exfoliating Toner?" for more information.

How should I start using the Exfoliating Toner?

We suggest starting with every other night application and rinsing with water after 2-3 minutes if tolerable. Using the toner every other night and rinsing after 2-3 minutes can help your skin adjust to the toner and can help minimize irritation or sensitivity.
Always patch test prior to using the toner on your entire face.

Does the Exfoliating Toner burn?

The Exfoliating Toner does not burn the skin. However, it does create a tingling sensation which can be accompanied by increased redness for a short amount of time following application.

Will the Exfoliating Toner cause my skin to purge?

Purging can occur when active ingredients accelerate cell turnover—bringing underlying congestion to the surface sooner. Because the LBH Exfoliating Toner is formulated with a balanced blend of alpha hydroxy acids at a controlled pH, most clients experience refinement and clarity rather than a dramatic purge.

If you are new to AHAs, you may notice a brief adjustment phase such as mild flaking or a few transient breakouts as your skin acclimates. This is temporary and typically resolves within two to three weeks. To minimize any disruption, we recommend beginning use a few nights per week and gradually increasing as tolerated.
