A low-pH exfoliating toner designed to support controlled cell turnover, barrier regulation, and long-term skin clarity.

Clinical rationale

The Exfoliating Toner was developed to address a common pattern observed in clinical practice: skin that alternates between congestion and sensitivity due to inconsistent or excessive exfoliation.

In these cases, the issue is rarely a lack of exfoliating activity.
More often, it reflects prolonged exposure, stacking of actives, or insufficient recovery between exfoliation cycles.

This formulation delivers precise, leave-on exfoliation within a controlled pH range, allowing desquamation to occur evenly without overwhelming the barrier. By refining shedding rather than accelerating it, skin clarity improves while inflammation and reactivity are minimized.

Protocol placement

Use once daily or every other day, based on skin tolerance and professional recommendation. Apply after cleansing and before treatment or lipid-supportive products. Daily sunscreen use is recommended while using this product.

This toner is designed to function as the primary leave-on exfoliation step within a restrained regimen. Additional exfoliating products are typically unnecessary.

Always perform a patch test prior to first use.

This toner may be used once daily or every other day based on tolerability. After cleansing in the evening, apply to face, neck and decollete with a dry or damp cotton pad. Some mild redness and tingling may occur. Follow with our Prickly Pear Seed Oil for best results. We recommend forgoing use if you are planning to use our Exfoliating Mask on the same day.

How should I apply the Exfoliating Toner?

Apply using a cotton pad to clean, dry skin. For more sensitive skin or during the adjustment phase, a slightly damp cotton pad may be used to reduce intensity.

This product is designed as a leave-on exfoliant. Rinsing is generally unnecessary once tolerance is established.

How should I start using the Exfoliating Toner?

Begin with every-other-night application. During the initial adjustment phase, the toner may be rinsed off after 2–3 minutes to allow the skin to acclimate gradually.

As tolerance improves, the toner can be left on as designed. Patch testing prior to full-face use is recommended.

Will the Exfoliating Toner cause my skin to purge?
